Connect Google email

Effective August 26, 2026

Connect a Gmail or Google Workspace account so customer replies leave from your real primary address and appear in Sent. The permission is optional and send-only.

This page is operated by InboxTender. InboxTender is a software service that answers calls, texts, chats and email on behalf of the businesses that subscribe to it. If you reached this page from a message, a call or an email you received, the business you contacted uses InboxTender — the business remains your point of contact, and this document explains our role behind it.

What the connection does

A workspace owner can connect a Google account from the Channels page. When a workspace member approves a draft or writes a reply, InboxTender sends it to the person who contacted that business from the connected account's primary email address. A copy appears in Google's Sent folder.

Connecting Google changes the reply's From address and where its sent copy appears. It does not change the workspace's approval settings; email replies still wait for a person to approve or write them.

Customer responses use the workspace's InboxTender lead address as Reply-To. That lets the assistant receive the next turn and keep the conversation together without reading the Google inbox.

The permission we request

InboxTender requests Gmail's send-only permission. It cannot list or read inbox messages, change or delete email, inspect contacts, discover aliases, or access Drive or Calendar. The first release sends only from the connected account's primary address.

The connection is for customer replies, not prospecting, newsletters or bulk marketing. Gmail and Google Workspace sending limits still apply.

Connect or reconnect

  1. Sign in to InboxTender as the workspace owner.
  2. Open Channels and choose Connect Google email.
  3. Choose the Google account and approve send-only access.
  4. Return to Channels and confirm the primary address says Connected.

If Google or a Workspace administrator withdraws access, Channels shows Reconnect needed. Reconnect there after resolving any administrator policy or account-security prompt.

Disconnect and delete access

On Channels, choose Disconnect and confirm. InboxTender immediately removes the connection. If no other InboxTender workspace uses the same Google account, we also ask Google to revoke the project grant. An encrypted cleanup copy may remain for up to 24 hours solely to retry a failed revocation; encrypted backup copies age out within 30 days.

If automatic revocation cannot be confirmed, Channels tells you. You can always remove InboxTender yourself from the third-party access section of your Google Account. See the full Privacy Policy for retention, sharing and Limited Use details.
